Ya the snow in your area was super deep last winter-and like you said it's unforgiving-not to mention the wolf population east of the city is pretty crazy. The wolves love deer meat. Surprisingly enough though we have about 40-50 deer behind our house all winter and only found 2 winter kills all winter/spring. Still nice deer-in a very tough area to hunt

Thanks everyone! Feels good to sleep in a bit today and know it’s all over. Meat is already cut up and into the freezer. Hunting clothes are in the wash right now, getting prepared to hang in the closet till next year!

You got that right! I’m curious to see how the wolves do this year with fewer deer. Maybe they’ll hit bait sites more often than usual. Hopefully I’ll get to take a few out this winter.

Congratulations on your 2022 hunt.

Nice. I've been hunting probably twice a week since late September when bow season started and I haven't seen an antlered deer yet and very few doe. Apparently by leaving a sanctuary for the deer that I didn't go into I also left a sanctuary for the trespassing neighbors. Game wardens were out yesterday and took down feeders, stands and cameras that were on my property. I figure this year is a wash but maybe next year will be better.

Glad I live in Gods Country. At least y’all’s fur is worth something.

Only allowed one deer in our area this year. Some years it’s bucks only. Last few years it’s been one deer, either buck or doe.
