Thinking about putting them on my number 3 sleepy Creek double longs for bobcats. Do you think they'd work here in Iowa with snow? I would prefer to have the coyotes stay out of them anyway!
Some guys seem to like them and some guys think that there's too many toe catches and thrown feet.

JMO setting exposed traps with larger pans does 2 things for you. 1 it all but excludes coyotes and 2 if the bobcat can see that pan he will center his foot on the step (your pan) for you. No kicked out feet or toe catches for me.

By using a drag, I get a 3rd and 4th benefit. The catch will hide from trigger happy bird hunters and the set area is preserved.

Just put some Wild River pan covers on some of our MB550s, has a nice full foot catch on a coyote in the snow.
We plan to use them for bobcats too, exposed . I think the advice above would be good.
