What's this thing you call a season? I trap all year long and have for nearly twenty years now.
What can you catch year-round? Here trapping for coyotes is Nov. 15 to Feb. 28 and coons is shorter.

Season doesn't start here for most things until November 15th. A better time to ask the question for us fur trappers would be around the end of March.

You got squirrels, bats, rats, snakes in your attic call a NWCO. Same for beaver, coyote, raccoon, etc. It's a legitimate industry and regulated in almost every state.

Why do you want to keep track of what others catch?

J ust to see how many a "good" trapper gets. (I am not a good trapper) Don't do that. There is a very diverse crowd here and what may be alot for some is few for others. That and the days of the high price fur long liner are pretty much over for now. There are still a few punching in sets and moving down the line but by and large folks are nuisance trapping, adc or targeting very select top dollar stuff. And quite often are doing value added stuff like glands, skulls, tanned on top of that. My point being thats it's not always about numbers. It can be profitability, targeting a specific problem animal or just pleasure. Don't set yourself up for disappointment by comparing to others.

4 beaver. 57, 45, 40 lbs & a lil one. Kinda wished I waited a few more weeks, but couldn’t. Gonna start up 2nd week of November again. It’s a target rich environment around here. Just beavers for now, I’ll start the other critters towards end of November. Nice!
