Been watching and hearing A LOT about "square" filing chainsaws. I want to try it myself for use on a husky saw I have. And maybe on one of my older Mac 10/10's.

Questions are, does it work on both the faster running saws, and the older slower running saws?

I hear they dull off quicker than round filed chains. Do they?

I mainly cut 10-24 inch firewood rounds, would the square filed chains really help?

Any hands on info would be appreciated.

I'm not really sure about what you are getting at but a good professional chain in micro chisel and a good round file is all I have ever used.

I have squair cut chains they are shaped a little different and do cut faster but dull faster. But they use the same round file. The cutter is squared off instead of a little rounded.

The square file works better for ripping lengthwise than round but is much harder to use then a round file. I did like the way it cuts but always go back to the round file for ease.
