La Paz County, AZ will work.

" As of the 2020 census, its population was 16,557,[1] making it the second-least populous county in Arizona."

Dry, go west. The southeast more often than not is damp.

Buy, lease? Plenty of open public camp grounds to stay at and you can move around to find the type of place you really like.

Somewhere outside of Boise Idaho, unusually nice climate, both summer and winter.
Especially "post trapping season".

What species do you want to trap? We have a massive skunk population that I would love to see trapped.

That might not be as easy as you think. Be sure to check local zoning laws. What you want to do is not permitted everywhere.

In west coast States you can park your camper/RV in any public place or right-of-way for a long as you want, for free. All you need to tell the authorities is that you are homeless and they leave you alone. They might even offer you free food and free health care.

This is how I'd go about it! If you're not set on solitude.

For sure towards to south west for warm, dry weather but not near the Mexico border at the present time. I'd be looking near Galveston Texas if I had the itch because of the fishing thete.

I believe there just might be new leadership in AZ soon that might be favorable. It's worth looking into.

Find some nice waterfront property along the Cahulawassee river.

Dispersed camping on a National Forest would work but you will have to move every 16 days.
