drasselt trapper D Joined: May 2010 Posts: 2,686 Alaska	I think it's a stretch to call that cat black or melanistic like the article does. Looks more like a blue lynx in it's summer coat. Still rare but far from a first. Having said that, it's hard to say for sure with the poor picture quality. you can vote your way into socialism, but you will have to shoot your way out.

bearcat2 trapper B Joined: Oct 2011 Posts: 2,515 Idaho	I know a houndman that caught a black bobcat down in Oklahoma in the 80s. He has a bunch of pictures of it. You can faintly see the pattern on it, but I would truly call it black. Never heard of a black lynx though.
