went and did my talks at the local high school, the other day two classes,2 hours each 56 young adults the teacher is an outdoors men but has never trap, but he has had me come and talk to the class about trapping ,i bring in furs for them to handle , every kid has to write what they thing about trapping and i receive the papers a week before i go , kind of gives me a heads up on what they are thinking , out of 56 kids not one close mine, most were open to trapping , or have trap, or were willing and wanting to try, I guess all the kids workshops we put on over the last 15 years has help

Hope indeed. I was invited into our local high school a few years ago by the Vocational Agriculture teacher to do a demonstration on how to skin beaver for his Wildlife Class. I brought with me 3 or 4 beaver, each one in different stages of being put up as I didn't have enough time to do skin/flesh/stretch one within the class period (I'm just not that quick!). There was a young man in the class who validated to me that there is hope indeed. When I got to the fleshing he asked me what kind of knife it was that I was using. I stated with pride that it's a Lee S. model and he stated that he currently has a Post.

After I fleshed about half of the pelt I stopped and grabbed another pelt that was already fleshed and started demonstrating how to stretch it on a board. The guy who asked me about the knife offered to finish fleshing the other pelt. He knocked it out in no time - did a far better job than I could have - and stated, "wow, I have to get me one of those knives."
