Picked up one to use as a fence checker, hunting and trapping ride on one of my farms. It was super cheap, bc it had no spark, and guy got tired of paying his buddy to put parts on it that didn't fix it. I think I found the issue. The 2 wires for the pickup coil coming out of the machine, if I understand right, should be around 200-300 ohms pin to pin, and O L to ground. I have OL pin to pin, and green wire is grounded, 0 ohms. Bad coil or wire problem inside, right? I would like to be sure before I open it up. Chime in if you have tested one, or would check yours. I think all Hondas around 95-05 use the same coil. Thanks guys!

Either this or the stator.

Put a new CDI box on my 300TRX, then replaced coil wire. Cranked some days and not on others. Changed out a new plug. Put old CDI on and no different. Has a mind of its own. Definitely a spark issue.

When it runs, it is perfect. Thirty one years old now. Working flawlessly for two months. Never found the problem.

Put a known good CDI box on it, did not resolve. Stator tests good.
