Nice haul John.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

man could you send a few Million of those around to the other side of the bridge

our Lake Michigan perch limit is 5

when I was a kid we would fish Green bay up near Sturgeon Bay and get a perch within seconds of dropping a line have spend all afternoon cleaning perch and have a perch fry with aunts and uncles and grandparents and cousins.

then the perch , well not sure what caused the decline in numbers of fish but our limit went from 50 to 25 to 5 and been holding at 5 for a while probably 20 years now

Limit is 25 in most waters we fish. The day of the pic we had 75 with 4 of us fishing. We only go a few times a year as along boat ride from were I dock my boat.

On Lake Erie, might the spring and fall flocks of hundreds of thousands of cormorants be related to reduced perch numbers?
How about the gobies that eat fish eggs?
Or any other invasive species?

zebra muscles , quagga muscles

lots of possibilities and feathers on the back of the fishery to cause decline

green bay is getting better , white fish are coming back other species getting better numbers also

I heard that salmon had a lot to do with ailwives dissappearing , and the state of Michigan cut back on stocking them.
A canner that used to sell salmon wholesale told me about 8 years ago that he no longer processes them.
Not enough to process , so just sells to the camp grounds , who sell to campers that don't catch any.
He would get the fish at the weir at the mouth of the Manistee River.
My guess is it effects the perch population also.
