In season 10 of Meateater, Steve goes on a pronghorn hunt with Luke Combs. Luke uses a rifle rest that I cannot find on the internet. It seems like it's attached to a vortex tripod. Here's a screenshot: I like this rest for two reasons. It cradles the rifle making it more steady/easier to shoot (my opinion). It also attaches to a tripod (I think). I spend a lot of time using a tripod and spotting scope looking for game, so pretty much always have a tripod when I hunt. Being able to switch out and quickly stabilize on a tripod would be a lot better than carrying two, at least for backpack hunts. Anyone know what this is or where I can buy one?
Pat, as usual, you are right....

I actually have that one. It's GREAT for kids. And ok for adults. It's tall enough for kids to shoot standing. Adults need to sit or kneel. Also it is it's own tripod, so there's no weight savings. But anyone reading this, it's a very steady rest for kids standing or sitting and adults sitting or kneeling.

Oh haha, no. The new one must not be as tall as the old one.

Check out the Hog saddle. Put that on a Manfrotto tripod and ball head About $700, but precision shooting. It may be the best, who knows?

That works too. The Primos trigger stick one leg is a great tool for much less $.

on the cheap a set of shooting sticks https://www.varmintal.com/abifu.htm can be very handy I know not what the OP is looking for but might help someone else I have thought about cutting some willow and making sets to just leave in my hunting spots with tarred bank line holding them together but really I never shoot that far in my spots usually can't see much more than 80-100 yards so I just use the sling
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
