Best shot placement to have a coyote DOA ( calling wise )? Like not spinning around or anything like that .

I tried the lung thing, but I didn’t like how much blood would run out of the bullet hole when I got to that point skinning, it always made a slippery mess from the chest down. Maybe I was doing it wrong lol.

X2 Base of ear works if they aren't looking at you also. Most times a coyote is looking at you or running away though.

If there facing you don't have a choice. If broadside double lung with a .243 is a boom flop.
Common sense catches alot of fur.. Pay homage to all you harvest..

When the pelt is worth approximately nothing, watching them spin biting at the shot for 5 seconds isnt gonna mess up anything with blood flinging around. Otherwise use a 9mm to vaporize the lungs. I heard than the 9mm will be messy as it blows the lungs right out of the body

Wolfdog... Use the right gun... I prefer the .22-250 for DRT. Use the right projectile. Don't try a head shot... unless your a precise and accurate shooter. Coyote don't usually stand still for long. A shoulder shot causes massive destruction imo. Facing you... Center of the chest. Broadside... Center of the chest.
Don't want to hijack the thread, just got my 22-250 Looking for any suggestions for the right projectile ... commercial or handloads? Would like to see similar performance as I got with the old remington 17 rem 25gr hp.

55gr Nozler Ballistic Tip at 4000 fps. Like they are hit by the Hammer of Thor. They never take a step and no exit holes.
