"what if" food supply lines were being interrupted "what if" food processing factories & farming were being purposely interrupted "what if" this winter store food shelves were emptier "what if" can be reality
Prep stuff that will last like canned goods, crackers, water, beans, rice, etc If "nothing happens" you can always use it in the future
Till that day.....

Some of that seems to be happening like the cost of fertilizer and seed. I would bet some farmers are gonna have a tough row to hoe next year.
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

I was watching a rerun of Doomsday Prepper the other night and saw some people that I am afraid just wouldn't make it. One gal was going to protect her stash with a paint ball gun, good luck with that, lol. Frozen paitballs hurt pretty good... But wouldn't hold off a determined lot

I'm sure most other reality shows are the same way.

If you haven't "prepped" already then it is too late.
I have nothing clever to put here.

I believe the shoe was more to make fun of peppers and give the low iq ones ideas to fail. Anyone serious does not advertise what they have or their plans. They may help give others ideas so they will be better off. After all if your neighbors are supplied they are not as likely to look your direction when hungry and cold.

People who “prep” usually aren’t prepared for anything truly drastic. I feel confident enough in my ability to grow food and kill food that I don’t feel the need to save up 12 months worth of groceries. I’ve got a months worth or so of food at any given time, plenty to get started. I do need to start bulking up my seed collection though, and buy some ammo for protection. .22lr is enough for just about any thieves. I’m accurate enough to take headshots with my .22 rifle out 100+yards.
The big burning question here is…if power goes out. Then we are in REAL trouble. No power here=no water. We have a lake that is at record low levels 45 miles away, and a few very tiny creeks in the surrounding mountains, that is it without wells. Our wells are so deep I don’t know if installing a hand pump in one would be feasible. The well that supplies the house I currently live in is about 300’ deep, as are most wells around here.

start with 72 hours , everyone should have 72 hours covered
then work out from their
can you with no power make 72 hours comfortably eating and drinking
everything starts with 72 and builds from there
are you ready to spend 24 hours in your car or truck?
can you cook beyond your 72 hour get buy rations ?
water you can store a weeks worth fairly easily milk jug type water jugs leak in time and current cost is about 1.09 a gallon 2 gallons a person a day and you have to replace them every 6 months or so or you spend the money on camping style jugs and just change out the water every 6 months it takes a little more than a year to pay for the container investment I have some that at more than 20 years old
if you have a generator you can probably run it to power your deep well and fill all your containers in a short time then shut it down to save gas
if you could be good for a couple weeks you would be way a head of the rest of the word and not have that much invested that you wouldn't just use any way

Bison well pumps make hand pumps that work that deep but they are not cheap. https://www.bisonpumps.com/deep-well-hand-pump/If you were just concerned with enough water to drink (not feasible for watering gardens and such) they also make deep well buckets... https://www.lehmans.com/product/lehmans-own-galvanized-well-bucket/

I think a good start is for everyone to have a good water filter.....usually lots of water can be found but it needs to be made safe to drink. Filter or rolling boil for 5 minutes. Some water sources are going to have chemicals in them, fert, herbicides, pesticides and etc...sawyer makes a filter that deals with that stuff alone...most filters do not deal with chemicals. Sawyer also makes a filter that deals with heavy metals..

Easy enough to filter water with a cotton ball and some sand, gravel and charcoal. If you need really clean sterile water, not too hard to rig up a still if you have a pressure canner.
