Never seen so much wild carrot before. Our pasture is full of it sheep won't eat it . ditches are crammed with it.

Another one of the plants people moved around years ago with no idea how invasive it would be.

yup that is why I posted

for the rest of the people in the audience smooth stem wild carrot is Poison wild hemlock it is also part of the wild carrot family and a fairly close look alike


the other one that looks similar is wild parsnip that stuff is bad news

Wild carrot juice I'm told is photo reactive much like wild parsnip juice. Don't what to be string trimming that crap out in sun with a lot of exposed legs.

Had an experience with poison hemlock. Picked a bunch of young Queen Anne’s lace/ wild carrot early in the spring. Cleaned them all and would eat them while working. I ate them all, but the last root. I was chewing it, it was kind of bitter and tough. Thought it was just an old root. About an hour later, my mouth was going numb, excruciating lower back pain in the area of my kidneys, and rapid heart rate. Drank a few cups amount of salt water and puked it all up, I didn’t stop until I seen what I had for breakfast. Haven’t ate wild carrot since. Consider myself extremely lucky, and use it to teach others while out looking for wild edibles and the alike.
