picked it up at the bookstore Mc Nally Robinson in Winnipeg
She breaks down the journey in different segments of excerpts from journals over the years of the HBC boats that traversed this vast area. These journals were from people that traveled each year back to York Factory of the Red River Lower Fort Gary to discuss the prior years fur take with the Chief Factors
each transcript is referenced to where the source came from.

Sure wish I had read something like this before I did work in many of the areas some 50 years before now.

Another along those lines but about the rise and fall of Rocky mt. Fur Co. Excellent book in my opinion.
