Matt28 OP trapper M Joined: Nov 2013 Posts: 2,971 Oklahoma	Anyone doing any reloading for the 350 legend? I got one recently and was wondering if/how others are reloading for it. I did some reading and it seems there is a lot of different options on what size bullets that are being use to reload.

GREENCOUNTYPETE trapper G Joined: Sep 2013 Posts: 18,743 Green County Wisconsin	.355 Hornady is making a 170gr soft point I don't reload for it but it is speced at .355 as in it is a 9mm not a .357 there was a little controversy early on over if it would be legal in Ohio that specifies a .357 cal bullet in the law and it is technically .355 but apparently someone decided it was close enough. https://www.hornady.com/bullets/rifle/35-cal-.355-170-gr-sp#!/ Last edited by GREENCOUNTYPETE; 01/02/22 06:55 PM. I'm concerned about it though since I recovered a bullet from one in the deer my boy shot with his .44 mag. It was lodged in the top of the shoulder above the spine and mostly healed up. Must of been shot early first season so it carried it for about two weeks. Here's the two .44 and the .350L recovered from the deer, I want a bullet for .350L that will expand like the .44 ...

How are you sure it was shot with a 350 vs someone with a 9mm? Bullet weight above 147gr I am guessing would be the best guess ?

Nothing wrong with the .44 mag rifle for short-mid range deer hunting. I killed several with it Just some minor cons, more recoil, higher cost per round

GREENCOUNTYPETE trapper G Joined: Sep 2013 Posts: 18,743 Green County Wisconsin	there were some small companies making 170gr soft points a year or two ago now Hornady has one https://www.hornady.com/bullets/rifle/35-cal-.355-170-gr-sp#!/ I heard good things about the 170gr stuff in loaded ammo the 170 puts it about neck in neck with the 30-30 and 35rem America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Seems that MAKER bullets (.355) have a huge following and Barnes now offers a .355 diameter bullet as well. Powder of choice seems to be H110/w296 and 4227. A few .350 legend loading groups on FB with a wealth of information.

But I think I would be pushing them 2100 or faster and think leading would be a problem . Sure I you could slow then down but at that point just go with a 357.
