When the itching gets so bad and you're about to be able to not help but scratch it... wipe it down with straight bleach. It'll sting a bit. But it really helps to dry it out quicker.

Jewel weed, also known as "Touch me not". is an itch reliever. The touch me not name sound kinda scarry. It is because when touched the seed pods pop and emit the seeds. The plants are just starting to flower now.
To make a salve, pack a jar with jewel weed fill it with an oil such as olive oil, and let it infuse. Then strain and thicken with beeswax. I use it for poison ivy and insect bites.
So, now, I have a question. Would it work to run a bunch of plants through a juicer and just add the juice to a carrier oil? Since the plants are right now at a perfect stage of growth, I'll give it a try if no responses.

It's called Zanfel !It's sold at nearly every major pharmacy and while it isn't cheap, it is RIGHT NOW !By the time you realize you've gotten poison Ivy, you're likely far away from jewelweed and all these other 'cures' posted. ( Jewelweed, BTW is a cure for Stinging Nettles, not poison Ivy) Zanfel Look it up !
Buy it, use it ! It will stop the inch the moment you wash with it And stay out of the weeds !

Purchased Zanfel for my sister last year and it worked great. She gets it real bad. My granddaughter gets it real bad. She tried many different remedies until she found Zanfel. She said it works great.

Scrub with Lava soap or had degreaser with pumice. It breaks down the oil and scratches the itch. Dab with concentrated Jewel Weed juice.
I cut jewel weed and put in a clean new one gallon paint can. Cut enough leaves pieces and stems to fill the can. Add water to nearly full the can. Bring to a boil, then simmer for a couple hours. Let it cool and save in a clearly labeled jar in the refrigerator.

Jewelweed treats lots of itching including poison ivy, insects and probably a lot more.

The worst part of summer for me is poison ivy. Just getting over my stint with it. For me, time is the only thing that gets rid of it. 10-14 days. Absolutely hate it! It’s every where here and my yard is bordered by it.
That's why they make ROUNDUPAnd Round Up kills it. I found some in my woods about 15 or so years ago. I sprayed it with Round Up. Wiped it out in 2 days. It has never come back.

As a kid, I used to get it several times in the summer because I was always going down to the river by our house to fish. One year I even got it in mid-winter with snow on the ground. It seems the neighbor was burning some brush and the smoke drifted over to our house. I happened to be outside and ended up with it all over my face and neck.
I haven't been blessed with it for quite a few years. I think maybe it's because as a kid when I'd get it my parents would take me to the doctor for shots right away. That happened so often for so many years, maybe I developed an immunity to it.
