That'll be another one I'll miss. 1600mi each way. Oh well, maybe one day the western half of the nation will get one I doubt that will happen. Not enough population density to support a national convention.That’s why the regional conventions were started, to give the trappers outside the “main” area a taste of what a big convention is like. Worked ok the first couple of years, not so much since then. If any one can pull off getting a national convention in the west, it will be Rusty Kramer of the Idaho,Trappers..b

In the past it was east of the Miss, one year west the next. I have no idea why that changed. Gotta have states with enough volunteers willing to host the conventions. Put in a bid and you have a good chance of getting it.

yes ray and his wife are both from down state Michigan Just looked it up. Farwell, only 25 min from my house. Back when he was on the show he carried a 1895 Winchester. Caught my eye.
