Snakes are fine pets. Just not snakes that are capable of killing you.

I want to see the body camera footage of that one.
I have nothing clever to put here.

Couldn’t have been a black snake. They aren’t that large and the media isn’t in an uproar.

I like snakes but 15 feet??? That will take a lot of BBQ sauce.
I have nothing clever to put here.

I am quite partial to the beauty of the Blue Indigo. They are in a class of their own, to me. I feel, about the most gorgeous snake in the world.
Elegant and very tame, I used to have a couple of them decades ago. In FLA . They are now illegal to own. All mine liked to do, like a very laid back lap dog, was to lounge , wrapped around my arm, casually viewing what was going on around them. A more tame , docile reptile , I've never encountered. The bigger they were, the tamer they became.
I just wish Jack could have hands on time with these beautiful creatures. He would love them.

They interrupted a Darwin Award Maybe he may be a ward of the state in vegetable state if his air was cut off long enough. This happened about twenty minutes from my place. The guy died. I've never understood why anyone would purposely wrap a reptile that kills by constriction around themselves? Or any reptile for that matter. My best guess would be the supposed coolness factor.
Eh...wot?

what no SLM ? they should have just talked to it nicely you know ! (if you can't see the sarcasm in that , look harder) where I live we require you have an exotic license to have snakes as pets , I am not usually in favor of more government but on that one , I can agree. I also know that ordinance does nothing to keep people from having snakes they just buy them any way , it does keep them from being sold in our town.

There's a show called Fatal Attraction that I like to watch. It's about people who keep all sorts of wild animals. People tend to ignore the fact that these are wild animals that are never truly going to be tame and make poor pets.
It seems like some who keep snakes usually start with the non-venomous ones, but move onto some really dangerous ones. One woman I saw on the show was mesmerized by some venomous snakes she had. Some of deadly snakes I recall her having were a cobra, several rattlesnakes, a taipan, puff adder, and a black mamba. She told some of her friends while she was careful, these snakes were getting used to her handling them. One day one of her siblings who couldn't contact her went to her house and found her dead. She had been bitten in her hand and her black mamba was the only snake loose.
Must be nice to eat ice cream as fast as you want and not have to worry about brain freeze.
