Doesn't appear that way. The controversy was over ghost guns. Here is there current policy.

https://www.ups.com/us/en/support/s...ted-items/prohibited-items/firearms.page

You can ship guns and parts through them but only if they have serial numbers.

FedEx is worse. UPS will at least ship from an FFL to an individual or vice versa. FedEx will not ship to any individual, you must have an FFL or be a government agency.

So, if I bring in a sealed package, how are they gonna know if there are serial numbers? Do they open it up and look?

They're about the same here, but in my experiences, ups gives you a date it will show up. Tracking rarely shows where it's at. Such as the package I'm waiting for now.

I ordered trapping supplies from F&T last year. It was shipped by UPS. Weird shipping experience, at least in this case. It started in Michigan, then to Salt Lake City and then for some reason went back east to Illinois. It eventually made it out here to Idaho.

Don’t know the legalities of it, but if I don’t want to fly with my turkey vest or gun, I’ve taken it apart, boxed it up, and sent it to where I’m staying. I give the manager of wherever I’m staying that there will be a package arriving addressed to me and I’ll request it when I arrive. Never had an issue. When I’m done hunting, I’ll pack it back up and leave it with the manager of wherever I’m staying and have them send it back to me.

Even though the e-mail says the ammo is shipping via UPS it is actually shipping through FedEx. Their tracking system sucks compared to UPS and their are already problems with the shipment. It was supposed to arrive yesterday but didn't. There is no update on the Palmetto website. Now it just says;

Shipment arriving early
OLIVE BRANCH, MS, 38654, US, United States · FedEx®
15 Fri 06:38 AM

When I enter the tracking number on the FedEx website it says "Unfortunately we are unable to retrieve your tracking results at this time. Please try again later."

FedEx sucks!

I had a “ guaranteed” delivery date of July 5 ….. not here yet…. Tracking has it as on the truck for delivery… for over a week… I’m 45 miles from their terminal. Might as well drive over and get it…..

Oops — sorry all…. This is with Fed-Ex….

More shenanigans from FedEx. I got an email from Palmetto State Armory that there was an exception with my package. I went to the FedEx website where my tracking number is finally showing some results.

[Linked Image]

My a package arrived in Breinigsville early this morning. That is only about 20 minutes from my location. It appears as though they shipped it to North Hampton in the wee hours of the morning which is in the opposite direction of my house and about an hour and a half away.

They are saying it should arrive today…we will see…not holding my breath.

From the Palmetto State Armory site:

Fed x is a joke and they’re overnight shipping is a high priced scam . A few months ago a check ( big one ) was sent from Bentonville Arkansas to Illinois overnight, to be delivered by 10:am . Two days later it showed up and we had to pay a driver to stay in a hotel for those two days as a result. Fed x refused compensation and would not reimburse the cost of the overnight fee.( over a hundred bucks ) so no more fed x for this family!

FedEx is about the only option for Hazmat shipping these days. I think it all depends on your driver, I've had good and bad experiences with both. Lots of UPS shipping centers won't accept ammo for shipping anymore

I prefer UPS except for 1 driver who puts my packages in my mailbox had one stolen. Then one time tossed it on the ground next to my box.My house is 1/4 mile from road plenty of turn around room. The other drivers use my driveway to reach the other road shortcut I gave permission.I called about the problem but it wasn't solved.
