Anyone from around the Ogunquit/Scarborough Maine area that can recommend a good charter? I'm looking for a half day afternoon Striper,Pollock,Cod charter. My wife just booked a vacation for mid August.
Thanks in advance!

Our group would go with the Bunny Clark. We always slammed the fish.

Did you book a private charter or do one of the trips they offer? There's 3 of us that will be fishing and $2700 for a private charter seems pretty high!

They have a few days trips during the time we'll be there. I might have to give them a try. Thanks for the info.

If you are fishing in August on the Bunny Clark you need to get on the 10 hour extreme day trip .Less fisherman on the boat and more time to get where the fish are.I fished on the Bunny June 28 a marathon 14 hour trip.My fishing partner and I split 63 ibs of filets pollock and haddock..good trip!

Do you remember how many people were on with your group? When I go out on Long Island Sound we always see charters will 50 or more standing shoulder to shoulder. I can't imagine that being fun! It seems like there would be constant tangles and much lower catch odds! Both of you really have me thinking of giving this a try. It looks like the Captain limits to 20 people, that doesn't sound too bad.

June 28 had 13 fisherman the day I was on..avoid 8 hour trips in the summer .Tim Tower also has the best equipment available of any boat you will fish on on public charters. Also I have been fishing on that boat for 22 years so that should tell you something

Thanks you guys. This is exactly what I was looking for. I'll probably book with him this week, just need to figure out which day.

That was my concern, I don't want to spend money to just deal with a day full of tangles and no fish. It sounds like this charter has it figured out. 2 good testimonials from here are good enough for me!

Is the Bunny Clark Charters part of the Platboy organization? Just wondering!

I love the smell of burning spruce---I love the sound of a spring time goose---I love the feel of 40 below---from my trapline I will never go!

Don't worry, Tim will treat you right. No tangles, we were worn out pulling up fish!

There is a difference between a fishing charter and open party boat. Charters are far more expensive, but only take your group. Anyone can walk onto a party boat, pay the fee and go fishing.
One tip: Watch the wind, you want an off shore breeze. Winds from the east will bring rough seas.

That's why I asked. I do private charters when I fish Long Island Sound and always see the party boats. They don't look fun out there. Bunny Clark seems like they don't book as many per trip and based on what's been said, might not be too bad!

I can highly recommend Kristen K charters out of South Portland. Capt Ben Gardner. Exceptional guide and great guy. South Portland is about 15 or 20 minutes from Scarborough. He has a nice website with lots of pictures and information.
