Wife dies and gets to the Pearly Gate. There she is met by an angel. The gate is locked and he tells her she must pass a test before she can get in. She says she thought that had already been taken care of on earth. The angel says no there is one more test, you must spell "love". She says oh, that easy L O V E. The angel lets her in. Then over time she works her way up to Gate Keeper. But in the meantime she notices her husband on earth has a new girlfriend and she is sleeping in her bed and wearing her clothes and he even bought her a new car unlike the junker she had to drive. Well finally the husband dies and when he gets to the Gate he is met by his wife as Gate Keeper. She says he can't come in until he passes one more test. The first humans on earth didn’t look like how Adam and Eve are portrayed in pictures. I believe they were called Homo Erectus with limited brain function but classified as early humans. Not very pretty individuals. I doubt God made himself in Homo Erectus image. Therefore, Adam and Eve couldn’t have been the first humans since they would have to look like the early cave man species.

The Bible is very clear and accurate in helping establish time. So the answer to your question is, 4,024 years from the creation of Adam until the birth of Jesus as a human.

There is still a large, breeding population of these in the Washington DC area.

I have a personal theory about Adam and Eve. No biblical basis for it but it kinda allows for the procreation of the human race. Many primitive people referred to themselves as “the people” or as the “humans” and considered every other group to be inferior beings. What if Adam and Eve were simply the progenitors of the Hebrew faction of the human race? I do believe in the creation but also believe it contains a tremendous amount of symbolism.

It's all very confusing and I don't think we were meant to know. But who's to say time was the same? We know there was a day and a night, but how do we know the earth turned at the same rate then, as it does now. What if a day now was equal to a year, then? What if the 40 years Moses wandered in the wilderness was really 400 years? Or 4000? who knows.

What if after Adam things devolved instead of evolved. The Nephilim apparently were not an appreciated bunch. I've read where the women in particular did not like them and would use herbs to sedate them or poison them, possibly the origin of calling women witches. I guess God had became disgusted with the population and destroyed them saving only a new start in Noah, of which his wife was related to the tail end of Cains line, and no that was from the fall of Adam and not the curse of Cain. While we was still imperfect just not to the degree of the "men of renown".

I've been in a few evolution discussions, which after a while I throw in the towel and agree to evolution , but in reverse ! Just food for thought.

How long did it take man to go from the cave to the moon? Or the horse and buggy to the moon? Man exploded onto the scene and has done so much in so little time. Punctuated equilibrium? I don't think so.

There may have been easier or better ways for early humans to track time. Days, nights as to hours can vary a lot depending upon where one lives so without a good system to record those changes years based on what we know as the Roman calendar could be iffy. Fortnights with the moon, moon phases, solstices, etc. were more lengthy in duration but very reliable as to when they occurred. Ditto the appearane of stars and constilations etc. I do believe that we do have reasonably accurate ways to convert past times into our current year methodolgy. Most archiology discoveries have most of our early human cultural grouping mostly along the central longitudes above or below the equator where day length and temps were quite uniform and this was the same in all the continents. The issue with the Equator however was the total difference of seasons from say the Middle East to say south central Africa.
