The Mid-Atlantic Air Museum held their annual WW II Weekend June this past weekend. The museum is based near the Reading Regional Airport located about 20 miles from me. As usual, I got to see lots of cool, old warbirds flying over my property.

I can usually identify most of them by silhouette but the two pictured below have me stumped. The tapered leading edge of the wing and the nearly perpendicular trailing edge is throwing off my ID. Do any of you WW II buffs have any ideas?

I didn’t get the binoculars on them but it looks like they may have US markings on the fuselage.

T-6 Texan? They are pretty common, as far as warbirds go.

They looks like P-40 Thunderbolts to this half blind trapper.

I believe k snow and the rest of you have it right with the T-6 Texan or a variant thereof. I thought they might be trainers after looking at a bunch of silhouettes and seeing similar wing profiles on several different trainers like the BT-9 also by North American and the Vultee BT-13.

Thanks for the help guys!
