I'm going back for the 3rd year to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area with my Daughter and Son in law. No Favorite Uncle this time to paddle with. I miss him a lot! I'll be in a canoe solo for 8 days Leaving Thursday...putting in Friday morning.

Bring bug dope, LOTS of bug dope and be prepared for extremely high water levels and lots of current. Many camp sites are under water.
I have nothing clever to put here.

I wouldn't be in the north woods without a bug net! And for us, the first one up in the morning lights the Thermacell in the outhouse.

The headnets are a good idea up there always. Never know when you will need them, but when you do they are worth their weight in gold (and super light to pack anyhow). Yeah, I learned that the hard way like always. Had a guy come to work up on the moosonee line one time. He got off the train wearing one of those headnets, lol. Some people asked him if he was from outer space.LOL Some of the guys burned holes in the net in back with cigarettes. After a while his headnet was full of blackflies chewing him up,lol.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Good plan! I am pretty much packed for our Canada trip and leave in the morning. I made sure to include every type of bug deterrent known to man kind.
I have nothing clever to put here.

I’ve never seen the mosquitoes as bad as this year at my place.
