I am truly heartbroken at your loss. Ive always had dogs..and to me it never gets easier when you have to have one put down. It sounds bad but the best way to help ease the pain is to get another one. It doesn't replace the one you've lost. It just gives you another one to devote your time to. Jerry lost his dog of 19 years a few years back..he has no kids so RP was the same as his kid.
I got him another pup..he named shorty and it helped him to heal from losing RP.
I'm really sorry your heart is hurting.
IF IDIOTS GREW ON TREES THIS PLACE WOULD BE AN ORCHARD !

Last four lines in a Robert Service poem, "My Dog"...
"I have no hope at all of heaven, I've lived in sin and strife; But thank God! I at least have given, One dog a happy life."

Take great pride and comfort in knowing you gave that dog everything you could and received so much in return.
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

Sorry for your loss. Had to put my Border collie down in October 1st pic. Then I had to put my new pup (2nd pic) down in December. Definitely a couple rough months. Last pic is my new helper. She thinks this corn planting is for the birds.
Everything the left touches it destroys

Sorry to hear that GG.
Some people just don't understand how a good dog can/will effect their lives.
swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo
You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

My last dog was a Siberian Husky and had to have him put down. I don't want to ever do that again.
Life ain't supposed to be easy.

GG - I am very sorry for your loss. It is terrible pain to lose a best friend, confidante, and family member. They truly become part of us. My dogs have made me a better person. If and when it seems right, look for a new friend who will help. Cherish your memories.
Nessy - what breed is that intriguing pup?
Pawnee - that is very rough misfortune. The new gal seems to be doing well and not too stressed.
Condolences to everyone else who has lost a cherished companion.

Sorry to hear of your loss. It is very difficult to get over the loss of a long time dog.
I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.
