Leave a poke hole that a 12cc syringe will fit through, its tough to get a good stick if the tube has no light to see what your doing so keep that in mind building them.

Years ago I took the trappers education class in Washington state and humptulips I think is his name on here had a skunk trap that is awesome. PVC trap with a valve on the end. When caught he just runs co2 from a tank into the trap and dispatches skunk spray free. It is really ingenious

I like the drop down ring locking door traps . Use them for everything , and if you catch a skunk , just use an old blanket to cover it . Take it where ever you want , release is just rolling the cage over on it's top , if live release . Euthanize by your method if need be . Most call them Williams traps , but there's better ones out there . Only draw back is they don't set flush with a building like a guillotine door trap , but an adaptor will solve that . Each to their own , whatever works for you , just don't limit yourself !@

I made some guillotine style, very easy to make and use. The only downside is the wind can blow them shut on you.

Swing doors seem less likely to freeze or jam like a drop door can a little file mark on the door rod of a swing door help combat the wind from closing them and we have wind.
