With the insane rise in fuel prices , I have been driving less. Still have places to go like work and other essential places , but I have curtailed other driving tasks quite a bit.
What say you ?

Nope. But I don't that much anyway. Got a couple beaver jobs to start tuesday so there will be some driving this week.

Other than go to town 2 times a month, don't have a reason to go anywhere else, but the closet town is 30 miles away.
From the looks at the casino, gas prices haven't hurt the snowmobilers, yesterday over 150 trucks and trailers in the parking lot, another trailhead had over 100 couldn't get another truck-trailer in it. I would guess that most were from downstate. Gas on the rez is $4.25/ gal reg.

I now plan my post office , coffee run, and parts pick ups , all in one swoop….so yes, trying to get the 12 mpg to be more efficient. Plus been brown bagging lunch for the last 2 months….no need of spending 10.00 for a small sub everyday….that saved money goes in the tank.
And I set the cruise on 64 mph or less

Now that I'm retired, only reason to go out is for perishable groceries. And with free delivery, we're cutting out major monthly shopping trips too. When it gets warm, we'll travel and spend more time (weeks rather than weekends) at the lake cabin.

My work place is 25 miles away. I have to drive that every day and if I get called (weekend.... after hours) out gotta drive those miles everyday also. I have cut down on my evening drives to check our farms and just see some scenery. I also cut back on checking trail cameras but only once every month or so. I can put a $100 of gas in my truck each week just doing what has to be done. Kinda sucks but that's the price I gotta pay just to keep in the game. I turn 65 in May and if gas keeps climbing it may be a factor in how long I work at a job so far away. Then again with inflation rising as fast as it is, a good paying job with great benefits is kinda hard to give up.

Out west, driving distances is routine for the majority . Those in towns , who work in the same town , don't have it that bad for driving.
Supply runs, etc, are just over an hour's drive one way for me. Some are closer, but most all of them I do in one scheduled drive. I don't drive as fast as I used to, even with 70 plus hi way speed zones . I am careful about that anyway, with deer , elk and moose crossing these roads at almost any time. And the groups of wild turkeys who like to travel roads where the snow isn't deep.
I have cut back on some foods to have more cash for feeding my truck.
