Article said it was over 10K ft down! i wonder if the ice shelf loss' made it available for discovery. What was the name of the expedition leader that had his ship ice locked for a few years in Canada looking for the NW Passage?

GPS is nice but can fail, I read that navy now is teaching the old methods of navigation as a back up and to verify coordinates. Amazing how explorers use to navigate and how accurate it was. I have read that coordinates taken by the Corps of Discovery Lewis and Clark are spot on. David Thompson that worked for the Hudson Bay explored most of Canada and Northwestern US prior to Lewis and Clark and was incredible at his cartography skills did most of it on foot and canoe.
