Very classy editorial by Mike Wilhite in the latest Trapper's Post. His editorial basically thanks Bob for creating and building up the magazine starting in 2009 culminating with its sale to Mike recently. He acknowledges how hard it is for someone to pass along something that they have put their heart and soul into. Make no mistake, Bob took a tremendous financial risk starting the magazine with no guarantee of success. Many longtime print magazines have gone out of business the last couple of decades. The creation and continued success of Trapper's Post is a testament to Bob's work ethic, vision and knowledge of the trapping community.

Bob is a gifted writer and will continue to write for the magazine as the Editor Emeritus. I have enjoyed his writings for years and look forward to his future articles.

Trapper's Post is now in the very capable hands of Mike & Penny Wilhite. Mike is also a good writer very attuned to the world fur markets. His fur market report is always an honest assessment of current conditions, both good and bad with an insider's view of future trends.

Good summery of the intro. Bob is one of a kind. I have worked with him for over thirty years. A lifetime of experiences, fun and serious, never ending full of neat stories , Bob is.

Mike is the perfect choice to take the reins .

Of course , Bob will always be in the mix, with everyone, and also my friend.

A mighty fine magazine, I especially like Bob Noonan articles. Some of his articles about trapping with his little brother are really entertaining.

Good post Gerald.
Bob Noonan is perhaps my favorite trapping writer. His articles have entertained me and taught me a lot over the years. When he first started churning out some articles about mink trapping in Maine he really got my attention. He has a great interviewing style and has written some fantastic interview articles over the years.

He has a gift to write an instructional article, yet make you feel you are tagging around with him all day. He has also taught me a lot over the years about writing. It is pretty sweet to have a contact that can do that.

I wish Mike and his wife the best of luck.

Mac

Bob has done so much for so many. He is an entertaining writer but to hear him tell a story is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Great people and great writers. And that Gerald guy is another class act! Which reminds me I need to place an order.

Bob and Mike have done an excellent job in bringing back the trapping magazines we're use to seeing years ago. Bob asked us to launch the new magazine called Trapper's Post right here on Trapperman, and we did. It was a huge success, and I was glad to see it.

Mike asked if he could run the stories in dad's book On The Line, and I agreed. I was hoping I had it on file digitally, but I didn't. It was on an old computer that's no longer functional. I should have saved it somewhere else.

Great post!
I believe the reason why these two guys have been so successful is that they are trappers first! They have been down on their hands and knees and have been dirty and...they enjoyed it! You can tell that by the detail they put into their stories. Bob Noonan has a very descriptive style that allows you to feel the setting that he has experienced. The detail in his writing educates the reader on not only how the set works but WHY the set works. Now combine Noonan’s writing with his drawings and the picture becomes clearer for the reader. I can’t tell you how many of his ideas I have literally read in a magazine and took the idea....the next day to the field and used it...with success! Congrats to both men in their accomplishments! And hats off to the staff of the Trapper’s Post magazine for their support.

An absolutely fantastic magazine, I have every one and will not get rid of them. They both do a great service to our industry and are good writers as well.

Paul,
If you take that old non-functional computer in to someone that fixes computers they may be able to salvage the old files. Unless, of course, Hillary had her hands on it.
