Same here while I was reading to my oldest daughter!! Now in her mid-twenties, she still remembers that!

She remembers! that’s what I hope I’m doing when I read to them, making memories.

My youngest brother is on those pod casts, every other week, when they do the rendering segment of the previous week's episode. He also did the filming when the bear started into the blind with Clay and him when Clay
was bear hunting in Canada. Proud of my little brother, Brent...d2

Brent is your brother? That’s really cool, he contributes a lot to the render, I definitely like his takes about as much as anyone on the podcast.

That footage of the bear is crazy. Hits his nose on the broad head pretty much. Close encounter for sure

A Dog's Purpose is a movie everyone should see. If you don't bawl there's something wrong with you. I sure did. There's another one too but can't remember the name of it.

Although not as good as Where The Red Fern Grows, his other book, Summer of The Monkeys is also a great read.

Sitting here thinking I can make three books off the top of my head that hit me like that. 1Where the Red Fern Grows,2 The Road, and 3 in Lone Survivor when “Murph” goes out into the open to call for support on the sat phone...get shot a bunch, drops the phone, then picks it up finishes the call and keeps returning fire. Gets me every time.

Sadly the jeff white books are out of print and costly when you find them

A nose for trouble, and it’s sequel Trailing trouble are also good reads, but then anything by Jim Kjelgaard is well worth reading, some are hard to find such as Trading Jeff and his dog but worth the search

Not ashamed to say that it makes tears run down my cheeks. Time to reread it again.

This is one of the few books I've read cover to cover. In fact I did a book report on it in 6th grade.
I was disappointed in the movie though . I don't believe it did the book justice.

Ha! Love "Where the Red Fern Grows". My wife is a 3rd/4th grade teacher and she asked me a few months ago what book she should select for the next choice when reading to her class. I told her that there is ONLY ONE choice..."Where the Red Fern Grows"! She agreed.

My reward/penalty? She required me to read to the class aloud as the book was started. So I went and read a chapter or two one day to get things going. Of course, there were plenty of tears as the book was concluded...but it was a memorable, quality story for the kids. So much so, that they requested to watch the movie too as a class, which they did.
