I bought some stainless wire I think 50 feet of the exact diameter and am getting ready to replace a bunch of 110 triggers. First I wanted stainless for it's durability and the main reason for replacing the triggers is i want longer triggers. I micro'd the existing trigger then searched for the right size in stainless. I am just going to build a jig once I get everything the way I want it.

Those might be great. How many come in a box? Dont list that on website.

I’ve used coat hanger before for smaller traps with good results.

For my 330s, I only use one type of wire, and it’s perfect. It’s from a big coil I found in my grandfather’s barn from years ago. It’s 11 or 12 gauge galvanized wire. I call it tension wire, but it may actually be called something else. I cut pieces about 2 feet long, put the halfway point over a 3/4” wide piece of steel and strike it with my maul then finish bending it into halves. It fits perfectly in the trigger yoke and I tighten it. Twist them together to make a T, clip any extra off and done. I use belisle factory triggers until they break then I replace them with these homemade ones. To this day I haven’t had to replace one of these triggers, and I use them constantly. They’re tough.

You lucky rascal!!!

I guess I'm lucky that Duke HQ in West Point, MS, is where I sell fur. 20 min from house. Trigger wires are usually on my parts list as a deduct from my check, pretty cheap. You could probably give them a call, they would likely oblige you. Brand of trap shouldn't matter.

X2. I also use them for projects that require spring.

Swamp, take a pic of what you are replacing and I’ll bend a dozen up and send them to you.

I've seen some folks use landscape fabric staples. Lowes, Home Depot, or your local farm and garden supply store may have them. Used to find them from 4" to 10-12" long. They already have the square bend on the top.

Thanks for kind offer HobbieT!

Im not completely out of business. Have about five out of 3 dozen 330s that have at least one wire broken off. Btw, all I use are Belisles. Their traps are great, but their wires are just like all the rest.

When I find a satisfactory wire or a supply dealer that'll market the wire only I'll be happy.

IDK. I'll check. I've been using one box for a few years, I sometimes just buy 220 triggers for both 160s and 330s, but sometimes I fix them with this wire instead.

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

Ding, ding.....you may be the winner!

Not sure about stiffness, or whether 1" bend may be a little too wide...but I'm gonna check these out....25 per pack.

These are 12" long.....perfect (extra) length for 330s.

I went to my metal supply house aand purchased oversized galvanized rod
They had two specifications for the material as far as softness.
I went with the stiffness because I am not a fur trapper and have to set in water,,, under wayer

I use wire that holds false ceilings, never break and I make them long for otters, just bend back when bent
