so I run into a guy and he ask me if i have any old traps that I want to sell cheap, I said no !!!!, I ask him what does he want them for ,said he makes knifes, so one thing leads to another , I tell him that I have a box of old traps that were left from a fire years ago, like 30 years ago, so I gave him 3 , and he is good I get to pick one out for myself and one for the convention this summer

Top one, and bottom one! Nice work! Over all how long are they? Are target squares 1 inch?

Would you be kind enough to post his info.
I think I would like to commission a couple knives as heirlooms for my kids

Trap spring knives will take an edge but its been my experience they won't hold one. Need constant touching up. IMO trap spring knives are best used as display knives. Those ones in that picture certainly would qualify as art pieces.

Top one, and bottom one! Nice work! Over all how long are they? Are target squares 1 inch? It looks like they are laying on a cutting mat like my wife uses to cut quilt squares on. They are marked in inches.

Those look nice and I'd love to have one. I already have one made from a rasp that I could probably use to cut thru brick and mortar but it lives rigged to my saddle

Heck I'll take a few traps apart for a trade. Let the guy know you have a customer for him if he wants one. I'd like to know price on bottom one.

Same here, I am interested in swapping springs for a knife I would even send wood for the knife scales.
I assume he heats these up and tempers them and hardens them?
