That doesn’t sound good for the trapper with fur in the March sale.

At least some of the buyers can do in person inspection. Plenty of brokers in Canada and the US that can look at the goods for buyers that can’t be there in person. That is what a broker is paid to do.
While not ideal, better than no in person inspection. It's a step in the right direction, for sure. Hopefully it will make a difference.

All of North America and Europe are free to travel to Canada without restrictions as long as they have their proof of vaccination. Without restrictions EXCEPT if you're not vaccinated. If you are not vaccinated we will restrict the heck out of you! LOL

This was a pretty short thread. I guess no one was too shocked that FHA will have another internet auction.

Personally, at this point, I believe FHA and buyers have adapted to internut sales. I remember when NAFA tried this years ago and it flopped. Other than the" Trust" issue internut sales make some level of financial sense. JMHO
Maybe the buyers can explain why internut sales are bad?

I agree that it makes sense in some respects. I do know it is hard to grade fur from pictures. But is the sample lot any better than a couple pictures? I can't say I have seen any internet sales that I thought were a big success every.

Internet sales are not good for the producer Do you think fur brings less on a internet sale because of buyers not getting to see the samples? Is it some how different than a closed bid sale that a lot of the State sales use?

It’s time for a international fur auction on USA soil. Maybe in Las Vegas we’re flights and rooms a little cheaper. Or maybe outside of Chicago or upstate NewYork. Maybe they can rent the old NAFA Facilites in Wisconsin. Ha ha. MD

Internet sales are not good for the producer Do you think fur brings less on a internet sale because of buyers not getting to see the samples? Is it some how different than a closed bid sale that a lot of the State sales use? My belief is they are less likely to have aggressive bidding due to not seeing the goods in person, do not have the same level of excitement as people in a room together and recently not as many brokers able to see the goods either. Then throw the lack of demand in general into the mix and it makes for lackluster sales. Obviously this is just my opinion As for sealed bid. Can’t compare the two scenarios as it’s not even close to the same. Goods are being looked at in person. And you MUST put the highest bid you are willing to pay if you want something
