As I read this post the Op said the drag trail started from no where and then just stopped. Beaver don't fly. LOL

Fox dragged his butt in snow like a dog does on carpet....?? I think this could be likely. Tracks could be from fox turning around and sniffing

It’s got to be from a chupacabra dragging a pig castrator which it stole from Coonman220s blue bucket set while on the way to a Trump rally.
I think I’m finally getting the gist of these forums...

Read the original post. The path starts and stops suddenly. The only tracks are that of a fox.
I thought maybe a fox doing a shoulder rub then walking back through the mark In The snow.

So there’s no tracks leading up to the missing snow area and no tracks leaving it? Just fox tracks. I thought it was probably a shoulder rub too. My dog does that in the yard and it looks like that, though not quite that neatly

If the fox was carrying a large kill that was slipping down and it needed a new grip it might slide it partly on the ground(slide mark) to get one a better, being first, than walk over it as it kept going second. Are the tracks TO the slide mark going the same way as over them? If it was dragging it's butt then going back there would tracks leading away from the double backed ones. Should be tracks showing it reverse back as well.
I've learned enough thru the years to now know that I don't know enough. KNOWLEDGE IS FREEDOM.
