I have a 2 acre circular frozen pond with a den in the levee of the pond.

I have two #330s guarding the trails exiting the den where I noticed bubbles under the ice.

Any other sets i can make with my #330s?

Pond beaver suck. They often have some "sleeper" dens to hole up in and they pay attention to anything that changes in their home. I prefer footholds on slides here.

Pond beavers are what I call socialist beavers. They don't build their own pond but take someone else's pond, ruin it, then move on. Those beavers are very sensitive too whatever happens in that pond and if you spook them they can be very hard to catch. I would wait for a thaw and set where they are cutting or at a feed pile, but away from the den. I trap more socialist beavers than normal beavers, and they are just a different breed.

Yep I'm on my 3rd season on one. They are a pain, and like said, will flat ruin a dam!

I stay away from castor sets and just use sac oil in most situations.

Baited 330's hung a foot or so so under the ice between the den and feed pile!

There is a feed pile. What do I put on the 330 trigger as bait?

You do not put it on the trigger. You wire a branch of skinned up popular, or whatever they are feeding on, onto a trap jaw. When the bait stick is on the trigger, water movement by swimming beaver will often fire the trap.

if your beaver den exits are covered with 330s then just start prodding into the den. they'll bust right into your traps. But look around they may have another bank den they are in

I've trapped the same pond for at least 5 years. Beaver were in it bad the first year, took 5 off of it the first year. Nothing was there the second year. Didn't go back 3rd year, owner called the following year said they were back. The last 2 years have been the hardest to catch them. I think a lot was my own fault of being in a hurry and not paying attention. I'll be back there this next year as long as owner allows me to give it another shot. I've mostly done castor mounds and they have always worked for me. Backbreaker is my lure of choice.

Pond beaver are easy to trap under ice with bait, especially this time of year when they will go to fresh bait readily.
What BC Tomcat said-dont bait the triggers on 330s hung under the ice, clamp a piece of poplar between the bottom jaws and hang with trigger on top, folded back short..
baited snare poles are also very effective.

Pond beaver = Difficult.

Castor mounds work for 1 or 2. Then castor lures are no good....no matter the brand.

Bodygrips blocking dens = many days of no activity. You cant be quiet enough to pull this off.

Any set made, the trap, including snares, needs to be completely submerged.

Sac oil only is definitely your best lure to use. Best is to save and use oil from one of the beavers you've already caught there.

Last resort = pull out and wait a few weeks. Quietly make a couple crawlout sets with footholds using the sac oil. Hopefully you can push your anchors into the ground and not have to hammer them, ie noise.
