Can someone(s) identify this trap ?
The chain and swivel are different from anything else I have.
Cast jaws about 4-3/4" ID.
Can't see anything on the pan.
Nice heavy springs, strong trap.
Thanks [Linked Image]

They started stamping the V in victor traps around 1909 or thereabouts and those pre V traps had very light pan stamps. Your trap is most likely a victor made by the Oneida community. There are some real experts on the trap collector forum that can shed more light for you.

Looks like a Blake & Lamb to me. A picture of the springs uncompressed would help confirm it.

Here is one other pic. Not a direct side view, but might help.
Thanks so far folks. Might move it to the other forum, wasn't sure if it was of collector interest.

I'd use a toothbrush and a drop or two of dawn dish soap on the pan under water until the pan stamp is visible
I use a good Magnifying glass

Early Victor, before they started cutting a V in the pan. I think before 1907. lol at the pan post - early Victor.

Wrong pan set up for Triumph. Wrong springs for an early B&L

I don't know what it is, but I don't think it's a Triumph or Diamond.

Helpful, huh?
