A blanket beaver pelt from this part of VA is about 1.8-2 lb dried unless exceptional and flat ones are in 1.5 lb avg range. I was hearing $4-4.5/lb hatter market a few weeks ago. Now everyone will go out and flood the market because of the reported positive news. I believe last season it was reported that the beaver market was very poor and saturated, however this season Groenewold wants all trappers can produce. Hopefully things change this rapidly for other furs.

I dunno. Out where I am we don't have any hatter buyers per se. My hatter quality stuff at the OTC sales was getting offers of $6-$7 per beaver (about $3/lb) last couple years. But to ship beaver back east isn't a viable option with shipping costs. So I sent -em off to FHA....and averaged just under $8

When the Chinese were in the market (pulling some funny business I heard later) I was getting $23-$24 for XXL DMG That sure helped the overall average!

route that would be at grizz's, is he talking about that route being in Marshall county, ks
