I have several old/antique traps. What book is out there that shows how much the traps are worth. I understand, value is based very much on condition. Is there a current “Blue Book” for traps?

The Trap Collectors Guide by Andreski & Parr is a good one to have. The second edition is from 2016.

Thank you. As far as it being 6 years old, are the prices close to what they would be today?

It is to be used as a guide to values. Prices go up and down but that said The Trap Collectors Guide is the most accurate book on the market. It also has detailed photos and very helpful information on a variety of traps.

Andreski & Parr have a new Collector's Guide with updated prices at the printer now for editing. Should be out soon.

Keep in mind, the value of a trap is highly subjective with regard to special collector interests, condition, and rarity. Price "Guides" are just that and you will find great variance in what traps sell for.

Quite true - that’s why most don’t chime in on a “what’s my trap worth” post, especially those without photos.

Good news on the 3rd edition, been waiting for that one! Now If we just had a government traps book....

New price guide by Andreski & Parr should be out by end of this month or early March.

Tom is putting my Government Traps book in their next publication called "Trap Collector's Companion" (or something close) which goes to lay-out in late April- May.

Thank you for all the help!! I’m planning on seeing Tom in a couple weeks. I’ll be In the Columbus OH area visiting family. I have to give him a holler to make sure the museum is going to be open. Again, thanks for the help. I have several antique traps, just don’t know if I’m a collector yet. I recently joined NATCA. I’m looking forward to learning more about the history of traps and values. Don’t really have plans to sell anything yet. Wait, is that one sign of a trap collector, get more and don’t sell?? LOL.
Thanks again.
