Over here this winter on the Kenai peninsula, getting to be to much snow for the 4 wheeler.
Thinking blower if I can even get one.
Advice ,input, appreciated
Gas and big enough for long drive , possible do others to offset cost for bigger model
Tracks or tires?
Honda are nice
Engines, types And size

350cc seems like the optimum sized snowblower around here.
Lots of power to blow snow and not as hard on belts and other parts as the bigger(420cc) HP blowers.
We used a lot of snowblowers on the RR in the parking areas around toolhouses and bunkhouses and for turnarounds out in the bush etc.
They seen real hard use,I never found the more expensive ones any tougher than the cheaper ones.
The ones with a plug in electric start are good for cold starting.
They are pretty easy machine to work on.Never used the tracked ones-they look to be pretty good.We always had the rubber tired ones with chains-they worked great for traction.
I have a 350 cc generic one at home here with a Briggs and Stratton engine, but only use it once or twice a winter after a blizzard with big drifts.
Use the 4 wheeler with plow most of the time to keep the yard clean.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

I was looking at the Honda HSS724AATD. 24 inch, tracked, two stage. But couldn't get one because of supply chain issues.

I would try Alaska Drinking & Drowning. AMD They would probably have some if anyone does

Thank you lots of good information
With my driveway long and sloping angle I like the tire and chain I think.
Plug in options sounds good to boco

I've done both, it's a plus/minus depending kind of thing.

The problem with a blower is that it throws snow, potentially on crap you don't want it on or in your way so you have to throw it again. The good thing about a blower is that if you don't have anything in the way, like a house and shop on either side of the driveway, or a boat, etc, it throws snow up and out of the way. It can feel slow, but it's slick when you have an open area beside you to throw the snow in.

What a winter to learn to plow with the ATV! I'm going to make some adjustments to the yard, like boat storage and removing particular trees, and smoothing the edges of the driveway so it's easier to push the snow further away at the beginning. After some yard work this summer I should be able to start this berm about 15 feet further back from the driveway..

Rumors of my assimilation have been greatly exaggerated.

my side by side went down during our big storm here so I was forced to buy something. I bought this and am happy with it however we had rain also and lots of ice (which is rare here) so I need to chain it but I have a big driveway and this thing eats it up pretty good. (the tracked machine Im sure is better overall but was out of my budget).

Get the biggest tracked HONDA you can afford. I've had a bunch and Honda's are the way to go if you value your time.

Bigger is better. I prefer wheels over tracks simply because I have to do maneuvers. Tracks don't like to turn sharp, don't like being tugged backwards, etc.
For simple, straight line plowing, tracks might have an advantage, but not much, in my opinion.
The auger is what makes the machine. The quicker and further it throws it, the better.

Just doing what I want now.

I was in Ulmers the other day (Homer) and they were fresh out. They've had supply chain issues all season, and every one that arrived was spoken for.
They told me they were done trying to get them for the season for stock, but if someone wanted to try and special order one, they'd try for you.

I have not been down to All Seasons Honda - but they are worth checking out. This is where I get my power sports stuff done, and they have always treated me fairly. I have Honda four stroke mower and weed eater, and would get a snowblower in a heartbeat.

Next season for me! I've had enough shoveling and plowing for several seasons...
