What’s a good pair to go with. Started setting Beaver traps a couple weeks ago. On the day I set traps I ripped my polar paws and tore a big gash in my hip boots. So I then used my chest waders and bare hands till new gloves came and wouldn’t you know it on the first outing I had a hole in my cold creeks. Is anybody getting more then a day out of a pair.

Lol. Haven’t set Beaver traps in awhile but on a mission this year. They had damed up the creek and built a lodge on a buddies farm. The water was up about 4 foot on a block walled barn he has. My son and I have gotten 3 so far. I’m glad to be back at it. Even got my thumb in a Ts-85 the other day.

Last year I read a thread on here about the blue oil cuff gloves from harbor freight. They are cheap, and I was skeptical, but I got a pair and so far I am impressed. I’m no pro, but I’m certainly not easy on them. By my standards, I’ve trapped pretty hard with them this year and I’ve yet to get a hole. Any other gauntlet I’ve bought usually gets a hole by the first or second week. They were 1/3 the price of normal gauntlets, and I’m very happy I gave them a try.

I was able to get about 4 seasons of light use out of my first pair of Big Game Gut Gloves. All others I tried would last a couple of weeks at most before I managed to poke holes in them. I haven't tried the Harbor Fright gloves yet but if they are cheap I might have to check them out. Probably test them out on my son first.

Interesting can you wear thin cotton gloves inside those? Depending on your hand size, I would think so.

Pretty good compared to the 30 bucks I usually pay for gauntlets.

I bought a new pair of lacrosse hip boots and noticed there half the thickness of ones I use to buy years ago. Stuff just isn’t made to last anymore.

I am with Ave. I started buying the Harbor Freight gloves. They are cheaper and built better than the others I have tired and I have tried a lot over the years. I remove the elastic in the cuff and then add a a bungee cord to connect them. All the gloves I use seem to rip between my thumb and pointer finger, (probably from setting BG's). Harbor Freight gloves don't seem to do that. Too bad Harbor Freight doesn't make waders. .
