One second after was thought provoking and a fun read. The second book wasn't as good, really far out there.

I enjoy dystopia and doomer fiction. Another book that's really good is Deep Winter, a different author

I hadn't looked at the price of the book lately. Most of it I read on a Kindle, so I just had the e copy. For fun fiction, I don't bother with paper copies, but if it is important, nothing is as good as a book in hand.

You can order One Second After on ebay for a used paperback for $5.60. I think that's what I'll do. I don't care if the book is new or not.

Wife just got me the series on amazon, saw used on their 2.53 said no dust cover may have hilighting but serviceable, don't know why you need a dust cover on a paperback.

I'm reading One second After now. I'm about a third of the way through and it's interesting. based on some reviews here I may not buy the second book.

I get nearly all my books on ABE Books. I only buy hardcovers and usually get books in good to very good condition for less than $5.00 including shipping.

This one was $6.39 plus $2.00 shipping.

Eh...wot?

Patriots by John Wesley Rawles is a good one. He has a couple of spin offs from that one also that are pretty decent.

I really liked the first 5-6 books in the Holding Their Own Joe Nobody series. Then it really started to drag i thought.

Angry American first 4-5 books were decent.

Equipping Modern Patriots by Jonathan Hollerman was a really good read. There was a follow up and I've read it but don't recall it.

Any of the original Scott Williams books I also enjoyed.

Haven't read any new dystopian/prepper/ EMP type stuff in 5-6 yrs now so I don't know about anything current. I also suffered through the Buckshot guys series. First one was pretty decent. Tons of misprints and whatnot, but started with a good storyline. When I got to the one book where Ligers were starting to hunt people, I quickly lost interest. I'm not sure if there were follow ups after that one or not.

Just livin' the dream...and paying full price for it!

I'm glad you said that, after Lugnuts thought I had a little misgiving, guess I'll just have to see.

OSA was a good read. Fiction for now, but I could see it happening the way China and North Korea are acting. I didn't read the other two....yet.
