Anybody have a Sightmark Wraith night vision scope. Do they work as advertised?

Go thermal and don't look back. It's not even fair

If it makes a track on this earth , I can catch it.

I don't have the Wraith but those that buy them seem to be happy with them. All will say upgrade the illuminator. I have the PARD 008LRF with a Sniper Hog Light 66 ir illuminator. Coyotes are easily identifiable at 200 yards.

This shot was at 204 yards. https://vimeo.com/631949213

The key with digital NV is you need a good IR light that's been sighted in line with your scope. Eveyone I've talked to likes Thier wraiths pretty well
Check this out might help with your decision.

it can do 150-200 yards with the supplied IR. but if you want to see much more you'll need more light. as wolfdog said, digital NV is all about IR capability. i can see to 400 pretty decent with wraith running a dual IR system.

in nebraska you may find thermal is a better option on the gun than digital NV but it just depends what you want to do and how much money you intend to spend

I like my wraith. Pair it with a good IR light and handheld thermal. Don't get me wrong I would love a nice thermal but for the money spent I can put down just as many with my wraith and handheld thermal as my buddies with their $4.5k+ thermals.

What do you have to spend to get into something entry level thermal and how far could you shoot something like a coyote with it

The ATN LT is around a grand. Once you use a quality thermal though, you wouldn't even consider night vision.

$2,500 for decent entry level. $3,800 (+/-) is the bottom end of quality thermals. Uploaded video quality on most thermals is poorer than what is seen through the viewfinder. Thermal really shines for detection. You can scan a field once and you'll know what's out there. You can detect rodents at 80 yards. With NV you'll be looking for eyeshine like you do with lights.

Cheapest is to shoot NV or lights and use a thermal scanner. Downside is once you're running a scanner, you'll be shopping for a thermal scope. Once you're shopping for a thermal scope, every $500 added to the budget buys an upgrade.
