I don't know what kind of dog food that was but I do know that the cost of the feed that we use has went from 30 to 35 dollars for a 50lb bag since the summer. When I went to the feed mill last month and picked up feed the lady who does their orders for dog food and such told me that it was tough to get dog food, she said everything that she had ordered the previous week was out of stock, they are a big supplier for the area and wholesale to several small farm stores in the are and don't order a few bags but rather pallets full so I am sure they are preferred accounts for the companies. So I guess the "supply chain" crisis is moving into the dog food world as well.

if you were closer I would sell a bag I have unopened

I hit my 10th bag and picked up my free 11th and before the big dog finished the the first of the two bags it died of old age.

so now I have a 7 pound dog that eats a 1/4 cup a day and about 70 pounds of dog food

we get Mounds Dog power it is a Sore brand made in WI to the store formula , been using it 20 years no vet ever said I should use anything different it did go from 40 a bag to 45 recently for a 35 pound bag

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

If most people read the nutritional values on the back of the bag they would not be buying all of the high priced dog foods. The cheaper chain store varieties have as much and most of the time more nutritional value than the high priced stores. Ol' Roy has more than most of the higher priced brands.

He quit feeding beaver though.

It's gone up a tad here but nowhere near that.

Is that an east coast thing? California in training?

Fed my Husky a fist size chunk of frozen beaver a couple or three times a week besides canned food.
Nice shiny coat when feeding on the beaver meat.

No bones on mine I strip off the back straps, cut off the quarters and other big pieces of meat throw in the liver, kindeys and heart and boil meat all falls off the bones. Cooks the meat also protects the dogs from any parisites.
