Just read where a judge says that the WI wolf hunting and trapping season will be held this year. Didn't see when It will happen.

Sad that wildlife management ends up in the court system. What a dysfunctional boondoggle.

Unfortunately it was the hunters or the pro wolf hunt people that brought it to the courts the first time. Then we kinda proved the antis right. That we couldn't hold a well managed wolf hunt

Given the legal time frames last year, I thought the hunt was successful. It wasn't good from a trapper's perspective but it did remove some wolves. The quota was too low though.

Do not mean to get sideways but how did we not manage and hold a well manged hunt. Quota was 200 for safe harvest the state harvested 209. That is pretty well run.

You're right I probably spoke to soon. I can't remember the quota but I'm reading conflicting numbers of 200 and 119. I'm not sure which is correct or where the wrong number comes from. If the quota was 200 your right they stayed pretty close. I still think it was wrong to take it to court when the state is more or less on our side. I think hunters need to stick to the idea of using sound game management and avoid the courtroom. I don't think we're well equipped to win consistently there
