Looks great Flipper.I wonder if it would hold up on a gunstock? I agree with ADC on the carpet.

That’s the same stuff Model Rail Roaders use to make water scenes....can even add ripple effect to it too ,for realism. I haven’t tried it yet on my layout.

Was the old finish still there or was it ever finished prior to the new coating? I've seen similar repairs done only to have them bubble and/or peal later because the two finishes where incompatible. Still looks great though!

Wow, almost too nice looking to get it all bloodied up. Good work! You must have some easy to clean surface behind that skinning machine too. I'd like to suggest a piece of scrap carpet to cover the cardboard on your floors too. It helps soak up blood and doesn't get torn up or fold up to be a tripping hazard.Roll it up and dispose of it after season. The padded back stuff is good on your legs and back too.
I just tell myself the blood stains add character, lol. There are rubber cattle mats down then old carpet and then the cardboard and I can see the TV 10 feet away, life is good! Looks great Flipper.I wonder if it would hold up on a gunstock? I agree with ADC on the carpet. I am sure it would, it is set up in 8 hours and harder than woodpecker lips after 48. Was the old finish still there or was it ever finished prior to the new coating? I've seen similar repairs done only to have them bubble and/or peal later because the two finishes where incompatible. Still looks great though! It was an old varnish that had cracked and weathered looking. I didn't sand it or anything, that stuff flowed into every nook and cranny. Had to use it all to make it deep enough to level out. The metal edge was raised just a little that worked like a dam and it just levels out. I used a throw away plastic putty knife to spread it out.

Here is another angle that I saw when I walked in this morning. The reflection from the window was amazing. Then I had to touch it because it looked wet.

That looks pretty good. How many square ft of surface can you do with that 32 oz package? I’m guessing it’s a fairly thin layer. The table is 21" x 72", I mixed up half and it wasn't enough to level out all the cracks and dings so I mixed up the whole batch. You could get away with less if the surface was smooth. You could put coins or anything down and make trim on the sides as a dam and pour it on.
