Yep... going to hit it a little... get a few rats a few coon, hopefully a couple of mink. Don't want any skunks or possums. Would like get a few beaver and an otter, but none real close and have to walk so far into get them... they are all about out of the question. Not worrying about the prices... still tanning everything.
Be careful out there and tight chains and full cages.

I just got back and settled in Arizona so my trapping will be limited. Not only by time but where I can go. Im investing a little heavier this year in calling and cage traps, mostly because of my limited time. But if I get a long enough weekend or something I might jump the line over to NM where I can throw down some steel. Im getting ramped up now but I find myself short of all the tools for anything too constant. Mostly in real need of boards for coyotes and cats.

I'm trapping, but I'll leave you most of the coons! Is it profitable? Depends on your perspective. I get a lot of excersize, and the few fox I get go for $50... eventually. It's at least a fun way to lose money.
Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

Yeah, not to be mistaken with "chupacabra" which require extra swiveling on your traps.

Depends on the price of chaga. Chaga-isn’t that a mushroom? Yes. They grow on the trapline. They are profitable making trapping travel and travel time expenses zero.

Stopped at fur buyer yesterday.Muskrat $3.50 on carcass $5.00 basis stretched and dried was the only good news.Beaver $2-$4-$6 depending on size.No coon and only buying western coyote. This guy has been brokering 3 million dollars of coyote a year.He figures this is his last year.So heck yeah I’m gonna trap. This. I’m trapping rats but what the heck else I’m I suppose to catch ? Coon-worthless, beaver a ton of work and what 10 bucks with castor? Mink? Hearing a dollar, no coyote market. 3.20 a gallon gas. I tend to be optimistic but are you kidding me. I’ll am trapping and when I look around out on the line and see no trappers or hope for profitability I say out loud. What the heck I’m I doing out here?
