Go to the United Trappers of Kentucky website, I am sure that if you reach out to them they can hook you up with someone in your area.

Im looking for advice on trapping groundhogs. I have a few tunneling under my old tabacco barn. The other day i counted 11 different tunnel entrances under my barn. I mostly have mb 550s and dp coon traps. Does anybody know if the 550s are to big to catch groundhogs. Ive read that if you set the pan tension to about 2.5 pounds that they can be a great multi species trap … ideally id like to avoid buying traps just for groundhogs if i can.

Also, my other problem is that my garsen is 100 ft from my barn so im assuming the groundhogs just run out to the garden to eat and retreat back to thier dens under the barn. With that being said, how would i bait a trap with thier primary food source being so close? Would a gland based lure be the best option, and does anybody know if a lure maker out there even makes a gland based lure for groundhogs?

My best success with groundhogs has been with 160 or 220 body grippers over the den entrance.
Next best is a live trap with Blackies Blend Whistle pig food lure.

Snares are cheaper than buying body grips but do have a learning curve. But they are great and you need to learn about them anyway.

Body grips and snares are what i catch most of mt ground hogs with. They both work body grips are easier and faster to set for me but both work very well.

Been millions of ground hogs caught in leg holds in front of the hole. If thats what you got use them. Wouldn't set coniber in a barn if you got cats. Just anchor were he can't get back in the hole. After you catch one shovel the hole full of dirt see if it gets cleaned out .

Go to this site and register. There are likely trappers in your area on that site.
