I have been making my own rebar drags now for a couple years. The only problem I am having is getting a good sharp point on my drag tips. I have cut them as close to a point as possible and then used a grinder to add a point but that is time consuming and is hard on discs. Any recommendations on another way? Thanks in advance.

cotton picker spindles..i think theres an ad for them in the trap shed. Easier to sharpen than rebar. Just weld em on

I don't know your set up, so sorry if this is a stupid question, but...what are you trying to accomplish with a sharp point? A drag is just for entanglement. I know guys that just use a tree limb.

Sharp points will grab better in grassy fields

Just cut a steep angle into the point. It will dig in and if it doesn’t dig in far enough it will plow across the top leaving a very noticeable trail. [Linked Image]
This style works well for me. Rebar is very soft metal so grinding it to a fine point will work great but not for long it will become a blunt point after some use. IMO.
