Not sure I’ve been on call most of my adult life a good nights sleep is rare, once I’m fully retired that might change for the better, or not. I think that is one of the reasons I don’t mind physical work as I sleep better after it. A good power snooze goes a long ways with me.

My daughter makes an ointment she calls her magic lettuce. Don't know the formula . It does contain CBD oil, olive oil and bees wax. If my shoulder or something else is aching, A bit rubbed on well, eases the ache. CBD oil makes you relax, you will sleep like a baby. old243

I've always been a pretty good sleeper but I don't sleep as well as I did when I was in my 20s and early 30s. I'm 40 now. If I go to bed with something on my mind, I will keep waking up throughout the night after I finally get to sleep. If I wake up fairly soon before my alarm goes off, I'm not going back to sleep.

Worry is the worst thing for sleep. If I ever get something on my mind about work, home, money, or whatever, I cannot shut off my brain.

L-Tryotophan taken before sleep may help you sleep and may also help the release of hgh from your pituitary gland while in rem sleep...rem sleep is very important for release of testosterone and hgh,

ymmv, but I started to use it.

Valerian root tea is also good for sleep as is melatonin.

I think the state of the country gets into our subconscious and may contribute to problems with sleeping. I wake multiple times during the night, mostly in the first few hours and to pee. If I wake up fully I go sit in a lounge chair and stare at the sky.....then back to bed. They say that the second half of your sleep cycle is made up of more rem sleep so the second half is very important....8 hours or more is best....or so it is said.

Lexapro and ambien were a great help to me
There’s still some nights I get keyed up but they really helped. I finally had enough of the dead people sleeping in bed with me and saw a doctor.

Mine is usually pain related I’ve gone to doing yoga and meditation it seems to help, but when it doesn’t then I move onto biofreeze, and when that quits I move onto pills for awhile to get sleep then I go off the pills and find a different kind of normal, but I can normally sleep decent after that.

I just retired at the end of July thinking I would feel so much less stress. Now for the past month my sleep has gone down the tubes. Maybe it's just the life change of retirement. Thought I was looking forward to sleeping like a baby again. Insomnia sucks....hopefully it goes away on its own soon.
