Kids airsoft BDUs on Amazon.
$50 CAD for the set, required a small amount of alteration to the pants
Cheap way to outfit a couple of brats for the goose blind

I know I'm always trying to equip them on the cheap since they grow out of everything so fast... hopefully it's helpful to someone else

Just happy to be here.

Good on you, Slydogx! When my son was starting to follow me into the fields and marshes I always made sure he had good gear. Too many times I have heard "Ah, he's just a kid." as an excuse for outfitting them in bad gear and boots that did not fit. If they are comfortable there's a good chance they will want to do it again If not, they won't want to be out there.

Combine that and a bag of good treats and your are increasing your chances on having a hunting partner the rest of your life.

Moosetrot, they actually seem of good quality... surprisingly good actually.
First hunts are early goose, so high likelihood that it will be no lower than 40degrees and possibly over 80 degrees so trying to get something light that we can layer up when it gets chilly

I can't get mine to understand dressing appropriately for the woods. She thinks flip flops and shorts are just fine then whines when I tell her to get down here and help me drag these beaver out.

Anyone remember the old time red checked wool hunting clothes and the "duck brown" canvas jackets? . . . those were the days of quality :-)

He has no idea how lucky he is Rick otts. When I started out my "camo" was a brown jacket from Sears with a blaze orange zip out liner.

Trust me when I tell ya, expensive hunting clothes are more hype than practical use. If you're a hunter, then your either in a waterfowl blind, pit, or layout and are concealed. If you're a upland game hunter, you're wearing orange. If you're a big game hunter, you're still wearing orange. Any plain normal "green" fabric or cheap area blending camo will do. It's the MOVEMENT or SCENT (with mammals) that draws attentions to hunters.

if your smaller than a 40 waste and an xl or smaller the army navy has all sorts of BDU and ACU

especially if you are and XS then the army navy will practically give it to you

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

When I started hunting ducks in the 70's I bought OD stuff at the surplus store. Lots of guys wore it and it blended well with the cattails until late season. I don't remember seeing a lot of camo then at the refuges.

I still bowhunt in a pair of camo bibs I've had for 30 years.

Good luck to you and your kids.

Pete

I don't think there's a surplus store within 2 hours drive of me (except probably Michigan...but can't cross to go shopping)
Keep in mind this is Canadian dollars and next day delivery with prime...these would probably go about $30 in USA

It's not just the kids... My wife learned the hard way. She had been helping me work on the car. I was putting stuff away and I dropped the scissor jack. It hit the top of her foot.

She cussed me... So I cussed her back. Told her to put real @&#$ footwear on when there's work to be done. So she's upgraded to a pair of Nike's. crazy
