My Black Hawk wrenches are ratcheting. Not saying they can't be destroyed but they are up to the task of any good ratcheting sock handle from my experience so far.

Gear wrench types are junk $29 a combo set. I have Matco ones that are built for about anything but the cheap ones fell apart out of the box.

Not Craftsman!!! Almost anything is better. Knipez makes very good stuff, depends what you are looking for. Gearwrench is just ok. Personally I would save your pennies and buy the absolute best you can afford. Quality tools will pay for themselves over time

The warranty is a bit hit and miss. Just my limited experience.

The Craftsman warranty is still the same as it's always been. It's just that some stores don't stock all of the individual tools/pieces, so if they don't have it they can't provide the replacement piece. Pretty sure you can go online and get a replacement, but I've never tried it. I have some old broken ratchets I should try it with.

The fine print says the warranty is for home use only, not professional. Don't wear your garage uniform when you take the tools in for replacement, they turned me down several times.

I now use Snap-on, Matco, Mac, Cornwell and Proto.

Sk just got bought out by a Chinese company, but the manufacturing is suppose to stay in the states. Sk has had a lot of back order for this reason of transfer of ownership. Proto is pretty reasonable from American made especially from Zoro.com. I fix commercial jets for a living and we still have proto tools that are 40 years old and still working fine. Also Williams which is a snap on industrial brand is pretty good without the snap on price
